Patrol Officers are hired by Borough Council after successfully completing a Civil Service Examination including written test, oral interview, physical agility, psychological and physical testing. All officers are trained and certified in their specialty and instruct officers of the department in various aspects of law enforcement including handgun, shotgun and rifle training. Defensive tactics including, OC spray, handcuffing, defensive tactics, use of expandable baton All Officers are trained and certified in the proper use of X26 Taser Emergency First Aid, CPR and use of External Defibrillator
